Commit your life to Elohim.
Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto Elohim.
Our lives are full of worries. From the time we come into this world till our death we worry about something or the other. With worry we become sorrowful.
Job 14:1,’Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble’. Job understood this very well. But all our worries and problems arise because we do not trust the Lord fully. We do not trust Him to bring us out of our difficulties. This is because we tend to think we know better. We read in Proverbs 3:5-6:”Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Commit is a word used for leaving money on deposit with a trusted friend. Such a trust was regarded as one of the most sacred things in life, and the friend was bound by all honor to return the money intact. It is the very word Yahshua used when He said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit. (Luk_23:46)
When we trust in the Lord fully and ask Him to take care of us, our worries are gone! Peter tells to cast all our care on Him ‘for He careth for you’. (I Pet.5:7). So what are the areas of our life that we should commit to Elohim?
Commit yourself to him. (2Tim.1:12) Paul had committed his life and soul to Elohim. Paul gave Yahshua his life, and knew Yahshua was fully able to keep it! Paul knew he could not keep his own life; he knew that only Elohim could keep it. Elohim was able; Paul was not. Knowing this made Paul full of boldness, but it wasn’t boldness in self, but in Elohim! Paul had committed everything to Yahshua - his life, his body, his character and reputation, his life’s work, everything that was precious. During his ministry, Paul encountered many dangers and difficulties. (2Co 11:23 Are they ministers of Messiah? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.) But he knew that the angel of the Lord encamped around him and he had nothing to worry. He committed everything to Yahshua till the day Paul would see Yahshua; either by Yahshua coming for Paul or by Paul going to Yahshua. The apostles lived in such awareness of that day, they did not even need to identify it. “That Day” was enough.
What do you need to commit to Him? Everything that is precious!
Commit your soul to Him. (I Pet.4:19) There is nothing of greater value that we can entrust to the care of another than our soul. This Paul had committed to the care of Elohim. The devil is not interested in our bodies, he uses our bodies to finally trap and own our souls. So who better to guard our souls than Elohim? Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were not afraid of the fiery furnace because they entrusted their souls to Elohim. They refused to worship other gods and when threatened to be cast into the fire they said,’( Dan 3:17) If it be so, our Elohim whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. ‘
As our Creator we may come to Him, and look to Him for His protection and care. Elohim is here shown as faithful, because he will always fulfill his promises, and withhold no good thing from them that walk uprightly.
Peter had done this because he knew personally of the mighty power of Elohim and had experienced the peace which came by trusting in Elohim.
Commit your ways to Him. (Ps.37:5) ‘Way’ means the course of life or the manner in which one lives. Many of us have the mistaken idea that we know what is best for ourselves. The Bible clearly tells us not to trust in our worldly wisdom.
Pro 14:12: There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Pro 3:5-6: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
When we commit our ways to the Lord, we will never stray from him. Trust Elohim and he will make everything work for us.
Commit your works to Him. Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established (Pro 16:3). When the Lord controls the workers, there will be no clashes. See that whatever you do begins, continues and ends in his name. Cast all care on him and depend on his providence or grace for supply, support and maintenance. Cast on him whatever you have to do. As a child opens its heart to the father, show Elohim our hearts desires and intentions, trusting always in his care. We should cast on Elohim all matters which burden us, and cause us great anxiety, for nothing is too heavy or too hard for Him. Then our thoughts about the future of our duty and our life-course will be happy,
Commit your burden on Him. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Psa 55:22). The ‘burden’ mentioned here is rendered as ‘gift’ in the margin of the Authorized Version (KJV). Some versions translate this verse as ”Cast on Jehovah what He has given, and He will keep you; He will not give the righteous to waver, forever“. Acknowledge whatever he has given us by his grace and ask for continuation of his mercies. Along with these, we should cast all our cares and troubles on him and he will bear us and our troubles.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1Pet. 5:7) Yahweh is concerned with what interests us. Whatever concerns you, spiritual or worldly, he is concerned. He is concerned about your troubles and welfare. He is not like the pagan gods who have no concern about creation, who are supposed to be so great that they can never hear the cry of man. Our Elohim, the only true Elohim, concerns himself about the work of his hands. We are of more value than a sparrow which cannot fall unless Elohim wills! (Matt.10:29-31) What a mighty Elohim we serve! The Elohim of the Bible - the Elohim who is really there - is Elohim who cares for you.
Phil.4:6-7: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto Elohim. And the peace of Elohim, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Messiah Yahshua.
